Duo
Warman & Bergamin
Ruud
and Wim met during jam sessions in
Reeuwijk in the 1990s. Sometimes they played together during
these sessions and proved to connect. They wanted to do a
tango project and they formed a duo. Along the way
they found their own sound of Argentinian tango with a jazzy
touch. The combination of tango and jazz phrasings
by this duo is fierce, tasteful and tastefully fierce in turn.
They play different kinds of tango, like real standards, but
also milongas and compositions by Piazzolla; last but not least
they play their own work. Wim and
Ruud both go from beautiful tango
melodies to sparkling improvisations, which adds to their
special sound and style. Respect for the tango idiom always
remains intact with them.
