Mariano y Cosima
This festival is
organized by Mariano & Cosima, professional dance couple Argentine Tango.
Mariano is born in Buenos Aires. His parents introduced the Tango in the
Netherlands in 1982. Mariano grew litteraly up with tango. Cosima is born
in the Netherlands and learned tango in 1996 first by the music (Cosima
studied a year tango violin at the WMDC Conservatory in Rotterdam), and
later she learned the dance by Mariano.
Together they studied
with famous dancers in Buenos Aires. They toured with various tango
orchestra's through the Netherlands in various theaters like Carré,
Luxor, Lucent, Musis Sacrum, De Doelen and many others). They also
toured as a showcouple in Japan.
After 16 years of study
and training, and 13 years as tango teacher, Mariano opened in 2007 his
tangoschool together with Cosima.
Why
do you organize this event with Fabián Peralta?
"We are very happy that
we can work with Fabián Peralta. It is for many years our dream, to let
our students know this fantastic dancer. His technique and his
teaching are close to our philosophy of tango", says Mariano.
"Like Fabián Peralta we find the energy, the feeling, the connexion in
the tango the most important", says Cosima. "It is for our students
important and interesting to hear what we say during class, but from
another point of angle. The same message, but different package, and
furthermore given by one of the biggest names in tango".
Mariano: "We hope that our
students will be inspired by their own feeling in the dance, to create
their own dance. I was thought just like Fabián by milongueros. The
intensity in which these dancers dance is unprecedented. That inspired
me. Even before I could dance tango my parents took me to the milongas
in Buenos Aires. I absorbed everything, even if I was very young. I feel
that Fabián Peralta's dance the power and intensity of the old maestros.
Every movement get's his attention and quality. The precious thing about
tango is that every dancer dances his tango on his own unique way, but
with always a connexion, with yourself, with your dancepartner, the
music, the space...".
